Chakra Healing – How To Balance Energy Chakras To Heal Ourselves

Chakra Healing - How To Balance Energy Chakras To Heal Ourselves

How can we heal our bodies? How can we heal our minds? Is there any way to avoid the side effects of chemical medicines? Bogged down by the stress of everyday life, bodies clogged with pollutants in our surroundings, we often struggle to find ways to heal. Thankfully, the key to healing naturally exists right within us. Balancing our energy systems with chakra healing awakens our body’s natural powers to self-heal.

Donna Eden, our gifted energy healer, shows us an easy way to manage our Chakra systems with Energy Medicine tools. Let’s begin our journey of chakra healing and learn how to balance chakras.

Until now, we’ve studied about:

  1. How to control our energy systems and encourage our life force
  2. How we can clear our energy blocks and renew our energy throughout the day
  3. How we can balance our meridians for stress relief
  4. How we can test our body’s energies and their response to different items
  5. How we can use energy medicine for pain relief

Now let’s move ahead to understand the chakra healing.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word for the ‘spinning wheel’. We can think of energy chakras as vortex-like swirling powerhouses of energy.

Just as the meridians are the energy channels, supplying energy to our body parts, the chakras are storehouses of energy. The two have a partnership. Meridians feed the chakras, and the chakras fuel the meridians. Thus, we can say that chakras regulate our energy flows.

What are the 7 Chakras?

There are seven major chakras or energy centres in our bodies, starting from the base of our spines to the top of our heads. Let’s look at the major chakras that are named after the body’s different regions:

1. Root Chakra: It is located over the tailbone and regulates our survival instinct. This chakra also resonates with our primal sexual energies. It is about feeling grounded, safe, fulfilled, and confident.

2. Womb Chakra: Located in our pelvic region, it is the cradle of our creativity. This chakra also governs the feelings of intuition and innocence, and emotions like passion, joy, trust, and faith.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra: Our sense of self, our knowledge of what we want, and our understanding of what is expected of us relates to this chakra. It is the place of our ego, self-confidence, and our opinion of ourselves.

4. Heart Chakra: This chakra is the seat of love, for others and ourselves. It also governs connections, linking our minds and bodies with our souls, as well as the universe. Moreover, it stores our pain and grief.

5. Throat Chakra: It gives us the power of self-expression. Information from all other chakras moves through this chakra. It puts this information together to help us communicate with ourselves better, and to clearly express ourselves to others.

6. Third-Eye Chakra: Located between our eyebrows, it controls our intellectual capacity. It helps us to understand what we see and feel, to realise how we relate to everything in our environment. The third-eye Chakra also helps us awaken extrasensory awareness, and register details beyond the surface. Thus, this chakra is about psychic skills and higher intuitions.

7. Crown or Pineal Chakra: It connects us to what is beyond ourselves, to the entire cosmos.

What are the functions of chakras?

1. Physiological functions:

a. Energy supply: The chakras transport energy, delivering fresh energy inside the body and letting out sluggish energy. The lack of clean energy weakens the organs bathed by the chakras. Hence, we should strive to balance chakras to keep our organs healthy.

b. Influencing hormones: Each chakra’s position is associated with an endocrine gland that regulates our hormones. Therefore, blocked chakras may hamper the glands’ functioning, causing diseases. This underscores the importance of chakra healing

2. Psychological functions

a. Processing experiences: The chakras help us process all our experiences—physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences. If any of our thoughts or emotions remain suppressed, the emotional reaction stays unprocessed.

Result: The need for energy-healing chakra balancing.

b. Encoding experiences: The chakras record the energy imprints of our life experiences like pain, joy, wins, and losses. The negative energies block our chakras, thus preventing us from reaching our full potential.

3. Spiritual functions

Our chakras connect us with the forces and energies of nature. Through meditation, we can open our chakras to nature’s wisdom, and channel it into our personalities.

How can Shifting the Energies bring about Chakra Healing?

Since the chakras feed the meridians and the aura, their energies flow into all the other energy systems. When our chakras are open, energy flows freely, keeping our body, mind, and spirit in harmony. Blockages in the flow cut the energy supply to our minds and bodies, making them weak and unhealthy. Therefore, energy-healing chakra balancing is crucial to ensure our health and happiness.

How do we Make our Chakras Work?

Since meridians and chakras are interconnected, tracing our meridians promote healthy energy exchanges between the two systems. This process prepares our systems for chakra cleansing and balancing.

How does Tracing Meridians Work?

Our hands give off electromagnetic energies. When we draw our hands over a meridian, the energies on it follow us, as if pulled by a magnet.

With this basic groundwork done, let’s move ahead to the detailed process. First of all, we have to ensure that the meridians are flowing in the proper directions. So we must begin chakra healing with the DER and the Four Thumps. After that, open our hands full and start moving them from the start to the end of each meridian, one by one.

The meridian pathways:

Central meridian

  • Place both of your hands on your pubic bones.
  • Drag them straight up the front of your body up to your bottom lip.

Governing meridian

  • Place one hand on your tailbone.
  • Move it up your spine as high as you can reach.
  • Place the other palm over your shoulder and try to make the two hands meet.
  • If you cannot join them, connect them in your mind.
  • With the hand that you put over your shoulder, move the energy along the rest of your spine.
  • Keep moving it over your head, over your nose, up to your top lip.

Spleen meridian

  • Start tracing from the outside corners of each big toe.
  • Move along the inside of your legs.
  • Flare out over to your hips.
  • Trace up the side of your rib cage.
  • Finally, move to the bottom of the rib cage.

Heart meridian

  • Place your right palm below your left armpit.
  • Trace down the underside of your arm and off your little finger.
  • Repeat with the other side.

Small intestine meridian

  • Start at the little finger.
  • Move over the outside of your arm to your shoulder.
  • Drop back to your scapula.
  • Trace your cheekbone to the opening of your ear.
  • Repeat on the other side.

Bladder meridian

  • Place both of your hands between your eyebrows.
  • Move up to your crown.
  • Reach down the back of your head to your neck.
  • Remove your hands and reach them back underneath, stretch on to your spine as high as you can.
  • Draw your palms down either side of your spine below your waist.
  • Move them back up and trace around your gluteus maximus.
  • Move up onto your outside shoulders.
  • Go down to the back of your knees.
  • Move along the leg to the floor.
  • Trace the outside of your feet.
  • Move off your little toes.

Kidney meridian

  • Put your fingers under the ball of each foot.
  • Keep your middle finger aligned to the gap between your first and second toes.
  • Trace up to the inside of each foot.
  • Circle around the anklebones.
  • Move up over the front of your body to the K-27.[A8]  It is the point under the clavicle over your sternum.
  • Massage this point vigorously.

Circulation-Sex meridian

  • Place the fingers of your right hand outside your left nipple.
  • Move up to the shoulder.
  • Draw your fingers down the inside of the arm.
  • Pull them off your middle finger.
  • Repeat on the other side.

Triple Warmer meridian

  • Starting from the ring finger, move your hand up the arm to the bottom of the ear.
  • Trace around the back of your ear to your eyebrow.
  • Do this on both sides of your body.

Gall bladder meridian

  • Place your fingertips outside your eyebrows.
  • Draw them to the ears.
  • Move your fingers about two inches up.
  • Circle forward to temples.
  • Move them back behind the ears.
  • Move forward again, up to your forehead.
  • Go over your crown to your shoulders.
  • Shift your hands to the sides of your rib cage and move down.
  • Go back on to the waist.
  • Move forward again to your hips.
  • Trace along the sides of your legs.
  • Move off the fourth toes.

Liver meridian

  • Starting from the insides of your big toes, move your fingers up the inside of your legs.
  • Flare out at your hips.
  • Move up the sides of your rib cage.
  • Trace underneath your ending ribs in line with your nipples.

Lung meridian

  • Place your right palm over the left lung.
  • Trace it to your shoulder.
  • Drag it down your arm
  • Move off your thumb.
  • Repeat with the other side.

Large intestine meridian

  • Place the open fingers of your right hand at the tip of the pointer finger of your left hand.
  • Move straight up the arm to your shoulder.
  • Trace over the neck to the bottom of your nose.
  • Move out to the flare of your nose.
  • Repeat with the other side.

Stomach meridian

  • Put both your hands beneath your eyes.
  • Drop to your jawbone.
  • Trace along the outside of your face to your forehead.
  • Move over your face down to your collarbone.
  • Go over your breasts.
  • Move to your waist.
  • Go back at your hips.
  • Trace straight down both the legs.
  • Finally, move off the second toes.

Now that our meridians are flowing well, let’s move on to the next phase.

Chakra Work

We perform this with the help of partners. One person carries out the energy testing process, which is then followed by the chakra cleansing and balancing on the other person.

We begin by checking the energy status of our chakras.

How to do it:

  • Ask the person you are testing to extend their arms straight at a 90-degree angle from the body.
  • Make them bring the backs of their wrists together and hold.
  • Place your hands between their wrists with your palms facing outwards.
  • Try to pull your partner’s arms away.

If you can pull the arms away from each other, the chakras are weak and need energy-healing chakra balancing.

How to test individual chakras

Tap twice on that particular chakra, or the energy field about two inches over it, before starting the test.

How to test the connection between two chakras

Tap simultaneously on the two chakras, the link between which you wish to check. Then carry out the steps of the regular chakra test. A weak test indicates that a powerful connection is missing between the chakras.

After testing, we clear the chakras.

The preliminaries: Before chakra cleansing, we must clear the choked energies that help improve the energy flow and enable better chakra movement. Let’s see how we can do this.

Spinal Flush

This procedure aids the movement of the lymph, releasing toxins. It also soothes the nervous system. If you are doing this by yourself, you can massage the neuro-lymphatics.

How to do it:

  • Make your partner lie down.
  • Starting from the base of the neck, start pressing hard on the flesh on either side of the spine
  • Continue down to the tailbone. Never press on the spine.
  • At each spot, trace tiny circles with pressure.
  • Move down about an inch and repeat.

Energy Sweep

We do this to pull energy down the body.

How to do it:

  • Start at the left shoulder.
  • Pull down your hands across the back to the right leg.
  • Pull down to the right feet.
  • Repeat on the other side.

Power and Electric Point Stretch

This chakra healing step is essential to activate the energy flows.

How to do it:

  • Ask your partner to lie down face up
  • Push your fingers in at the centre groove along the back of their skull, above the spine. It is the Power Point location.
  • Then pull out.
  • Next, shift your fingers to the points one-half inch away from the centre on each side of the previous point. These are the Electric Points.
  • Massage deeply.

How to Balance Chakras and Make them Healthy?

General rule

Chakra cleansing starts at the Root Chakra and moves up step-by-step through all the seven chakras. We have to hover our hands over the chakra and move it in an anticlockwise direction. To set the route, we have to imagine a clock, face-up, on the body of the person in front. Then we have to move anticlockwise accordingly. Likewise, we have to move up the chakras in sequence.

Exception: When we work on the Crown Chakra in men, we must begin by moving our hands clockwise and end by spinning them anticlockwise.

Let’s understand how energy-healing chakra balancing technique works.

The chakra’s natural spin: The chakra layers are spinning in separate directions. Anticlockwise rotation releases energies outside. Clockwise movement admits energies inside, adding it into our systems, and stabilising the energy flows.

The anticlockwise spin in chakra healing: Since our hands have electromagnetic energies, the chakra energies will synchronise with them. First, the anticlockwise turn of the top chakra layer will become stronger. Next, the subsequent layers will start to move in the correct direction. The process will draw out stagnant energies from each segment.

The clockwise spin: After chakra cleansing through the anticlockwise rotation, the layers auto-adjust their balance. At this point, when we move our hands clockwise, fresh energy will enter and make the system stable.

How to do it:

  • Place one or both of your hands two to six inches above the Root chakra.
  • Move your hands in an anticlockwise direction slowly (taking about 5-7 seconds for each circle). The loops usually need to be as wide as the body.
  • Continue for three minutes.
  • Shake your hands.
  • Next, rotate one or both of your hands clockwise over the Root chakra for two minutes.
  • Again, shake off your hands.
  • Continue the steps over each of the seven chakras serially.
  • In the end, make the Figure 8s over the body to lock in the alterations.
  • Finally, retest the chakras.

How to Strengthen the Energy Connections Between the Chakras?

Belt Flow Pull

This exercise connects the second and third chakras. It opens up the energies in the pelvic region and improves the flow between the top and the bottom of the body.

How to do it:

  • Stand beside your partner’s waist.
  • Reach across to the other side.
  • Place your hands under their back, at waist level.
  • Pull your hand to the front across their belly towards you.
  • Repeat several times.
  • Drag the energy down the leg nearest to you and off the foot.

Clearing the Throat Chakra

Apart from the swirling energy pattern like the other chakras, the Throat Chakra has seven chambers along the length of the throat. Stretching the chambers strengthen the Throat Chakra and balance chakras by opening the connections between them.

How to do it:

  • Put one hand on the jawbone below the left ear.
  • Place the other hand on the collarbone at a point directly below the first hand.
  • Push apart gently.
  • Repeat all along the jawbone to below the right ear

Taking Down the Flame

This exercise grounds our energies and strengthens the chakra connections.

How to do it:

  • Stand with your fingers spread on your thighs.
  • Inhaling deeply, raising your arms over your head.
  • Touch your fingertips and thumbs together, forming a pyramid.
  • Exhaling with a sound, like “Haaaa”, bring your joined thumbs on the crown of your head.
  • Keep the fingertips touching each other, stay there and inhale.
  • Exhaling, reach your joined thumbs to the centre of your eyebrows.
  • Stay there and inhale.
  • Exhaling, lower your thumbs and touch the centre of your chest. Stay there, inhaling.
  • Exhaling, move the thumbs to your navel.
  • Roll down your hands, forming a triangle with your hands under your navel.
  • Keep your hands there and inhale.
  • Exhaling, open your hands and smooth your palms to your thighs. Inhale.
  • Then slowly exhaling move your palms down your legs.
  • Bend down, and let your hands hang loose. Exhale.
  • Inhaling, trace your hands along the inside of your legs.
  • Return to a standing position, returning your hands to your thighs, and exhale.

Can Chakra Cleansing and Balancing help in our Healing?

Chakras control our physical organs, glands, our emotional processes, and our spiritual connections as well. Any blockage stagnates the energy flow, causing physical ailments and emotional stress. If we can balance chakras, the energy currents will stabilise, helping us to regulate our body chemistry and make our mental perception better.

Clearing the energy obstructions also enables us to let go of our past, find our purpose, and open the gates to a rejuvenated life. Therefore, chakra healing is a powerful tool for keeping our life force balanced and focusing on our wellbeing.
